IBEW 520 offers Spanish classes to members

Thanks to a partnership with Freestyle Languages, IBEW 520 members will have the opportunity to take a 12-week Spanish program. 

Local 520 cares about being a supportive community partner and we understand that a large population of Central Texas speaks Spanish. By having members learn Spanish we will strengthen our community ties.

Learning Spanish will also help us communicate better with our Spanish-speaking Brothers and Sisters and will bring more solidarity to our Local.

The 12-week program will offer classes every week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. 

There are two available classes: one for beginners and one for people who know some Spanish.

There are currently 22 seats available for Spanish I and 17 spots available for Spanish II. 

The cost is $320 per student but students will be reimbursed $100 after the program if they attend 90 percent of classes.

Expanding our knowledge in languages will help us better serve the community. Knowing more than one language will help put IBEW 520 above competitors and we will stand out as a Local.

Registration ends on Aug. 11, so if you are interested, you need to sign up as soon as possible. 

Classes will begin on Aug. 21.
